Sega Mega Drive II was the most popular Sega console in Iran, that was widely available from mid-90s and sold until late 90s/early 2000s.[1]Due to the high prices of games, Vdieo Game Clubs were popular. Players paid by the hour to play on several connected consoles like Mega Drive, PlayStation and Micro (Famicom clones). One of the most popular games for Sega consoles was the Mortal Kombat series.[2]
From the late 2000s, Red Entertainment Distribution was involved in the sale of Sega products.[3][4]
