IBEA
The first consoles in Czechoslovakia appeared in communist times when at the end of the 80s the original Atari 2600 appeared. Together with the fall of communism, consoles began to appear in the country more and more. The first Sega console that appeared on the market was Sega Master System distributed by the IBEA company from Slovakia. This was in 1992 when on the market in addition to Atari 2600 clones called Rambo could be found Game Boy, Atari Lynx and a PC Engine clone called Super Engine.
Datart , ITO CS and Popron Distribuce
After the break-up in 1993, three companies became an authorized distributor of Sega. These were Datart, ITO CS and Popron Distribuce. They sold Sega Mega Drive, Sega Game Gear, Sega Mega-CD II, Sega 32X and Sega Multi Mega.Games and consoles were distributed with special instructions in Czech. After some time, other companies began to create their own instructions, such as for example Schiel Games Shop.Consoles were popular and very widespread.
At that time, many famiclone began appearing in both countries, such as the Terminator 2 modeled after the Sega Mega Drive, Belgame , Pegasus and Video Game-GT3300.
In 1995, Popron did not want to wait for the European premiere of Sega Saturn, so it released an imported version from Japan. The console cost 25000 CZK.[1]

In 1996, DDC Agency became the distributor and released Sega Saturn. The company has published in the Czech Republic a specialized magazine about Sega named Sega News. The company had some problems with distribution in Slovakia and with the release of the Playstation console which became popular in Slovakia, but not in the Czech Republic where it started to gain popularity in 1997.Despite the large promotion of products, DDC Agency failed to sell Sega Saturn, which in 1997 was poorly supported in these countries.
During this time, a lot of unlicensed Sega Mega Drive clones appeared. The best known seller was Sat Game.Pirate consoles and games could be bought with instructions in Czech.
Sega Dreamcast was distributed by Fliko which was an importer of Sega products. The first consoles appeared in 2000[2].At the same time, Sega PC games were distributed by Dynamic Systems.
