History of Sega in Portugal |

Official Sega distributor(s): Ecoplay (1991-present) |
This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.
Ecoplay (formerly named Ecofilmes) distributes Sega products in Portugal. It is unknown what range this covers, but it is known that they at least started their game distribution service in 1991 and that the Sega Mega Drive game Dragon Ball Z: Buyuu Retsuden and the Nintendo 3DS games Captain America: Super Soldier, Crush 3D, Mario & Sonic Nos Jogos Olímpicos Londres, Shinobi 3D, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Sonic Generations, Super Monkey Ball 3D, and Thor: God of Thunder were distributed by them.
Tectoy's Master System III Compact was sold in Portugal along with two Tectoy exclusives released nowhere else in Europe; Sapo Xule - S.O.S Lagoa Poluida and Game Box Série Esportes. Ecofilmes exported this same Master System model to Spain also (same Box with the original text in Portuguese, the Garantia Sega Portugal seal, but with the console's specifications printed in Spanish on the right side of the box), which was sold there by Toys"R"Us.
They also appear to have been the only officially licensed company that provided region converters for when they distributed Dragon Ball Z: Buyuu Retsuden in the region before the French release came out.
