Sega Interactive (株式会社セガ・インタラクティブ) was the company established to take over Sega's arcade product development, manufacturing and sales businesses, in the April 2015 split of Sega Corporation into two (with its counterpart being Sega Games).
Although the move was ostensibly intended to further separate Sega's arcade and consumer businesses, Interactive continued to additionally develop a number of titles on consumer platforms, and even adopted a dedicated strategy for them in late 2016 ("multi-device × one-service"[1]). This page compiles all of its published works, and staff that cannot be attributed to a specific division or department.
On Interactive's founding, the main divisions were R&D1 and R&D2, alongside supporting departments for hardware and other purposes like Product R&D as before. However, its R&D structure was subsequently changed in at least two major (yet little-publicized) reshuffles; a R&D3 mainly comprised of staff from R&D1 was first formed around late 2015,[2] and by the company's move to Sega's new Osaki offices in February 2019,[3] R&D1, 2 and 3 became departments, with the mobile, console and medal game teams that belonged to R&D1/2 each spun out into a R&D4,[4][4] R&D5,[5][6][7] and R&D6.[8][9][10] Sega Amusements International and its own R&D team additionally traded under Interactive.[11]
In 2020, the company merged back into Sega Games to become the second incarnation of Sega Corporation. Its main personnel and R&D departments initially came under its fifth division.
